• Description: Construction of a 5.52 km long hydraulic tunnel, connecting the Western interceptor to the San Javier river. It is executed with a tunnel boring machine. The coating consists of reinforced concrete rings with an inner diameter of 7.70 m, intended to have an interior coating subsequently added to this, also of reinforced concrete with a final diameter of 7 m and protective finer (or fiber?) membrane. During the execution of this project, the Mexican record of linear metres of tunnel dug daily with a tunnel boring machine has been broken several times.
